Earlier this week, I made a call for us to resist “flooding the zone” in this midst of the overwhelming media landscape, and to instead consider, “remaking the room.”
But once we’ve done that, how can we communicate about our issue effectively? One way to start – whether it be with a short talk, op-ed, or full-blown campaign – is to identify what we call at FRESH, “The Thread.” How can you encapsulate your idea or work in one, powerful sentence?
This seems like a simple task, but after the last decade of coaching some of the most impactful social change leaders out there, we’ve found that this is one of their biggest challenges. After all, when we’re given the opportunity to share our ideas on a stage, page, or boardroom, we feel the urge to share everything that is important to us. But you do not want to give into that feeling.
